Hong Kong

The Central District is the main commercial centre of Hong Kong and lies on the north part of Hong Kong island across Victoria Harbor from Tsim Sha Tsui. Central District was used by the British for the location of its Government buildings and China has located its` Hong Kong Administrative Centre in Central District when it took over in 1997. Some of the main sights of Central Disitrict are listed below.

Bank of China & the Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank
The Bank of China Tower opened in 1990 and has a very distinctive architectural style based on sharp angles which in Feng Shui terms is a way of channeling negative energies towards other financial and government institutions. The Bank of China building stands at around 369 meters high. The older Bank of China building is a much more modest building styled in 1950s art deco.

Nearby the main centre for the Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank (HSBC) is situated in a highly unusual building designed by Norman Foster with some of the building`s technical structure located on the outside of the building.
