Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island is a major area for shopping and is one of the liveliest areas with an abundance of cafes, restaurants, fast food outlets and of course, shops. Major department stores such as the Japanese Sogo & Mitsukoshi stores are based here as well as the famous Times Square shopping mall and entertainment area. For budget conscious shoppers, there are the nearby busy lanes of Jardine`s Crescent and Jardine`s Bazaar which offer low priced clothes and food at various street stalls and shops. The area can become quite crowded & it best avoided when humidity & heat are high.

Hong Kong Central Library & Victoria Park
Other sites worth visiting on Causeway Bay include the Hong Kong Central Library. This is a huge building which is open to the general public and has the added bonus of free internet. Causeway Bay has an excellent transport system and trams run from Wan Chai through much of Causeway Bay. Even though the area is not too large for walking, taking the tram on a hot day can reduce the stress of sight seeing. Alternatively people can relax in Victoria Park which also has a large number of sporting facilities.
